| Day 5, Cordova to Kenai (5/18)
We left Cordova on the 8:40 AM flight and flew to Anchorage. We got a rental Taurus from Budget, and drove over to Jim & Melody's condo. In Achorage, we noticed a big difference in the trees from our first visit to Anchorage just a few days ago. In the last 4 days, spring has sprung and the trees have new green leaves. Many people have put out their flowers and potted plants. The air was clear and the sun was bright as we drove from Anchorage to the Kenai peninsula south of Anchorage. The Kenai was the most populated area that we visited (other than Anchorage) and has become the close-by, easily accessible, vacation spot for Anchorage and tourists. The road took us through some great scenery along Cook Inlet and Turnagain Arm. Snow covered mountains and the rivers they generate were the predominant venues. Our night’s stay is at a little cabin over looking Cook Inlet, Harborside Cottages. |
